George Orwell
George Orwell's ''Politics and the English Language'' essay really confused me. I kind of got lost in the words i didn't understand and the fact that its such a long essay made it harder for me to understand what he was talking about However from the first paragraph i think George was trying to put across that as society develops the English language develops, it could be that people fear change so you will always find people arguing with and against it. The problem is people half consciously assume language is a natural growth and don't want to except that language is shaped by our purposes.

ReplyDeleteDo try to read it again in your own time, as he has some interesting ideas, and tips for writing.
Also, in your own writing, remember to break up your writing into paragraphs - it's really important for a reader on a blog!
